Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s various sports teams are recording an outstanding start to the winter season. Here are some highlights:
The Varsity Boys soccer team defeated Good Shepherd 7-1 on January 11 led in the mid-field by Mason Ibarra. Goals were scored by Paolo Jebian, Justin Espinosa, Joseph Munoz, and four goals by Miguel Palacios.
The Cheetahs defeated St. Agatha 6-0 on January 13. Defensive stars were Daniel Luna and Sebastian Bak with great goalkeeping and a shutout by Justin Quintana. Goals were scored by Tommy Vereau, Espinosa, Kenny Romeu, and another hat trick by Palacios with 3 goals.
The Lady Cheetahs JV Girl’s basketball team defeated St. Patrick’s 14-10 on January 11 with strong team defense and Sofia Mendez on offense with 8 points. On January 13, the Lady Cheetahs defeated St. Rose 33-8 with top scoring by Mendez and Andrea Luna.
The JV baseball team defeated Blessed Trinity 12-2 on January 13 with 8 strikeouts by pitcher Luis Torrens who had a triple and an RBI. Gianlucas Lemoine closed out the game in relief, with outstanding catching by Matthew Mesa, Ben Segall and Brandon Ravelo.
OLL’s Primary Blue basketball team defeated St. Michael’s 21-20 on January 12 led by Daniel Rubi who scored 19 of the team’s 21 points.
