Miami-Dade County says Christmas trees -- clean and without decorations -- may be disposed of in three ways:
--Drop trees off at a trash and recycling center. The closest one to town is at 7870 NW 178th St. in Palm Springs North. It’s open daily from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
--Curbside tree collection will happen from Jan. 11 - Jan. 22 and from Jan. 25 - Feb. 5. Trees will be collected on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Do not put cut-up or whole trees inside garbage or recycling carts.
--Bulk waste pickup is available. Call 311 to make an appointment or visit https://bit.ly/3jy1NyL to schedule a time and date.
--Free mulch from Christmas trees will be available for pickup in the spring.
Residents in the service area who show proof of address may sign up to get mulch.
