Our Lady of the Lakes Spring Festival set for March 5-8
It’s that time of year!
Gather the kids, get your tickets and be ready for family fun at the 46th Annual Spring Festival hosted by Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
The four day and nighttime fair will bring carnival rides, food, games and business exhibits to Northwest 67th Avenue at Miami Lakeway North, from March 5 – 8.
The international food court will have 16 booths offering the cuisines of Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica, Philippines, Spain and Italy.
Oh, and there will be burgers, hot dogs, gyros, Caesar salads and smoothies, too.
“I think families like the fair because children enjoy the rides and the parents enjoy the food and entertainers,” said Elsa Reus, director of community relations and alumni for Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School.
Proceeds from the fair benefit the parish and the school; last year it netted $250,000, Reus said.
She estimated that 15,000 people visit the fair from Miami-Dade and Broward Counties each year.
Admission is free; tickets are required to board the giant Ferris wheel, the Orbiter, the Kamikaze and 17 other rides.
There will be fun houses, a pirate ship and other diversions, including for toddlers.
A DJ and live bands will perform, and there will also be a children’s talent show and dancers from area studios on stage.
A basketball tournament will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Raffles with just 300 tickets sold will offer prizes of $2,500, $1,000; $500 and $250. Tickets may be bought at the church gift shop.
Reus said more than 300 volunteers pull off the festival every year and that helping hands are always welcome.
Discount priced bracelets for rides – ranging from $20-$50, may be bought after Masses on Feb. 29 and March 1, and at the church gift shop until March 5.
Festival hours are:

March 5, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.; March 6, 5 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.; March 7, 1 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. March 8, Noon – 9 p.m.

Bracelets will be sold at full price at the festival, when single ride tickets will also be available.
