Monsignor Edward Pace High School took home the 1st Place banner at the 2026 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship DII competition held Jan. 30 to Feb.1.

The Spartans placed first in the large varsity non-tumbling division of the competition held at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

The team received zero deductions for their routine, Cheerleading Coach Surella Rodriguez said in a news release.

“A zero-deduction routine signifies a flawless performance with no falls or errors…” Rodriguez said.

Greenbriar High School of Greenbriar, Tenn., which placed third, also had zero deductions in their routine during the final competition.

Rodriguez said the achievement marks a year of wins which included a 4th Place finish in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s State Championship in Class 1A.

“This achievement represents years of hard work, discipline and belief,” Rodriguez said.
