Pace schedules annual SpARTan Boot Camp on Feb. 8

Education Friday, February 7, 2014

Back by popular demand, the Monsignor Edward Pace High School’s SpARTan Boot Camp, an intensive and exciting day of art, dance, drama and music, is taking place Saturday, February 8, in the Spartan Center, located on campus at 15600 N.W. 32 Avenue in Miami Gardens. Any student in grades 5 through 8 with a passion for the arts may participate.

The boot camp will be hosted by Pace High’s Fine Arts department and includes several workshops and live performances from the art, music, dance, and theatre strands of Pace’s Signature Academies Program.

Participants will be exposed to first-hand knowledge and expert advice as workshops will be led by teachers who have studied that particular area of the arts. In addition, current Pace students will be on hand so Boot Campers will receive the student perspective on what it takes to be a successful artist, dancer or musician in high school and beyond.

The $10.00 donation includes two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Space is limited and accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
