Six wrestlers from Pace High School’s Spartan wrestling team advanced to regional competitions following their performances at the FHSAA District 15 1A competitions on February 19. Pace wrestlers Alex Perez, Vladimir Rocheburn, David Monrabal, Leo Ferradaz, Zachary Alvarez, and Milford Vital all qualified in their weight class district tournaments to advance to regionals.
Team captain Alex Perez won the District Championship in the 138 Weight Class for his fourth straight year, becoming the first wrestler in Pace history to win four District Championships. In 2015, Perez was a regional champion and placed fourth in state competitions. As team captain, he led five other Spartan wrestlers to Regional competitions on February 27.
