Pace High School freshman, D’Andre Ragin, was selected as one of the winners for the 2015 Disney Dreamers Academy Essay Contest. Ragin is one of only 100 high school students from across the United States chosen to attend the 2015 Disney Dreamers Academy at the Walt Disney World Resort from March 5 through 8.

Working in conjunction with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE Magazine, the Disney Dreamers Academy is an educational experience devoted to fostering skills in a multitude of careers and connecting Dreamers with mentors.

In addition to being a dual athlete for both the Pace Spartan varsity football team and varsity basketball team, Ragin plans to pursue a degree in business administration or law at either Stanford University, Duke University, or the University of Miami.

In his profile for the Disney Dreamers Academy website, Ragin credits his parents with teaching him the value of hard work when he was young and that he is “determined to achieve [his] goals in order to become a positive role model and to make [his] family and friends proud.”
