Palm Springs United Methodist hosts Family Festival on Sept. 12

Palm Springs United Methodist Church will be hosting a free family festival sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida. The festival, “Swap Extravaganza Under the Stars” will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, 5700 W. 12 Avenue in Hialeah.

This free event will feature children’s workshops provided by the Hialeah Gardens Home Depot and Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. in addition to a Build-A-Bear station.

A car wash will also be offered by Boy Scout Troop 306 in front of the church. Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops from areas such as Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Miami Gardens, Aventura, Sunny Isles, and Hialeah Gardens will be represented.

The Girl Scouts will have an information booth about the group’s mission and values such as building courage, confidence, and character in girl leaders of tomorrow. Sing-alongs, crafts, and marshmallow roasts will take place and there will be food and refreshments available for purchase.
