Copper, 5, a Golden Retriever who lives in Miami Lakes with her owner Clyde Pfleegor, poses in profile on the lawn near the Miami Lakes Athletic Club. She is Pfleegor’s second Golden Retriever. Pfleegor said a friend told him the best way to stop mourning his first Golden after it had died was to get another one right away.
“I would never get another breed,” Pfleegor said. “She’s great company, absolutely. She’s friendly to all animals and all people. She would welcome a burglar into the house.”
Pfleegor, who is retired from law enforcement, said a friend takes Copper for daily exercise at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah or to the K-9 Cove in Miami Lakes.
“She’s never destroyed anything and was easy to train,” Pfleegor said.
So if you see Copper in downtown Miami Lakes, say hello. She’ll be happy to make a new friend.
