The Town of Miami Lakes presented a proclamation to the Miami-Dade County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board, which promotes positive images of Hispanics and their contributions to society. It also works to “solve the many complex issues affecting the Hispanic community in Miami-Dade County,” according to the county website.

“This is a body that does great work and provides an important advice role to the county commission on issues involving Hispanic affairs,” Mayor Josh Dieguez said during the Nov. 18 council meeting. He presented the proclamation after the group held a public meeting in Miami Lakes.

“Thank you for having us here, it’s a pleasure to be here in Miami Lakes again,” said Program Officer Dr. Griselle Marino.
