Santa delights elders at annual holiday luncheon

Santa Claus, aka Tico Casamayor, arrived with bells on for the Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee’s Senior Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 15.
The Miami Lakes Hotel on Main was the destination for 148 elders.
“We sang carols, and at one point I announced Santa’s arrival, while we sang 'Here Comes Santa Claus,'” said Dottie Wix, chair of the committee.
Numerous sponsors supported the luncheon or donated gifts and gift cards for guests, including Lupe Bruneman of Advocate Health Advisors; Fred Senra of Miami Lakes AutoMall; Florida Blue; Catholic Hospice; CareMax Medical Centers; Publix; Winn Dixie and One Low Price Cleaners, Wix said.
Among the attendees were Miami Lakes Councilman Tony Fernandez and Miami Lakes Councilwoman Marilyn Ruano.
