Scout brings cookies to her customers

Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida Troop 902 member Victoria Loyal learned about marketing and sales from executives during a recent business networking social held at a restaurant on Main Street.

Victoria, 14, set up a display with her irresistible product – Girl Scout cookies – to entice guests on the sidewalk outside of Amazonia Nikkei on Feb. 26.

The Town of Miami Lakes Economic Development Committee, BNI Miami Lakes and the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce host the monthly socials.

Victoria sold 100 boxes of Thin Mints, Caramel deLites/Samoas; Toffee-tastics and Adventurefuls, at $6 or $7 each.

“We sold out [of cookies],” said Rebeca Morales, Victoria’s mother and the troop’s co-leader.

Morales said it was a good lesson for Victoria, who will earn another  badge for her collection and prizes for her cookie sales. The troop’s Cadettes are raising money for a trip to Georgia to see where the Girl Scouts were founded.

If you missed out on the Scouts’ annual sale of sweet treats, you’ll have to wait. Girl Scout Cookie Season happens just once each year.
