If the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations are helping you feel the artistic muse, Miami-Dade County has a competition for you.

Residents have until July 8 to submit entries in the “Our County, Our Country” community art competition.

The competition centers on the theme “We Are America: Miami’s Place in the Nation’s Story.” According to the county, original artwork should reflect the people, cultures, neighborhoods, histories and aspirations that shape the community.

Submissions will be separated into youth and adult categories. The youth and adult winner will receive 125,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles, a certificate from the county mayor and  a Miami-Dade 250 commemorative item.

Both winners will also be displayed at Miami International Airport.

Ten finalists will receive a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative item.

Presented in partnership with American Airlines, the competition is open to Miami-Dade residents of all ages.

To enter, submit a photo or video of your artwork by July 15 through the competition application form at miamidade.gov/sites/interactive/miami-dade250/art-competition.page.
