Miami Lakes senior citizens are in for a treat, as the town’s Elderly Affairs Committee is planning an event to help put them in the holiday spirit.
The town’s Senior Holiday Social event is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, December 13, at the Roberto Alonso Community Center Royal Oaks Park, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.
The free event features a holiday luncheon, door prizes, raffles and live entertainment to help senior citizens celebrate the Christmas holiday.
Residents wishing to participate must first make reservations; the deadline to register is Wednesday, December 10.
Seniors are asked to bring new unwrapped toys for toddlers to 12 years-old for Miami Lakes’ toy drive.
