Over 50 local businesses attended the Open for Business-Small Business Workshop presented by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. in partnership with The Beacon Council on February 25 at Miami Lakes Government Center.

Designed to bring resources to the local business community, the workshop focused on building a business plan, marketing, resources and funding opportunities. Members from business assistance organizations like the Small Business Administration, SCORE, the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund, and Accion were present to meet with attendees one-on-one.

“This was a very practical, information-filled opportunity to help our residents and local businesses improve their lives by giving them the tools to start or improve their existing businesses,” said Councilmember Ceasar Mestre who also serves as chair of the town’s Economic Development Committee.
