Spanish Lake Elementary begins Cambridge curriculum

Spanish Lake Elementary (SLE), 7940 N.W. 194 Street in northwest Miami-Dade, announced Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho’s approval of the school’s implementation of the Cambridge curriculum for the 2015-2016 school year.

Cambridge International Examinations is the world’s largest provider of K-12 international education programs, promoting academic excellence through high expectations and rigorous standards.

The Cambridge Program is coupled with the existing prestigious Elementary Bilingual School Organization program at SLE. The school will begin the Cambridge Program in kindergarten and fifth grade and phase in the rest of the grade levels in subsequent school years in order to attain a progression in advanced education and capitalize on the rigorous international education instruction.

Registration is open for SLE, a school that boasts seven consecutive “A” grades since the school’s inception in 2007. The main office is open every weekday this summer for registration from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Student and parent orientation for Kindergarten will take place on Friday, August 21, at 9 a.m. in the main building cafeteria. All first grade and new students in grades 2-5 will meet Friday, August 21, at 1 p.m. in the main building cafeteria. 

For SLE parents shopping for uniforms, SLE administration has announced that Ibiley will be selling school uniforms in the bus parking lot area Mondays to Fridays to August 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information on reading lists and school supplies visit www.sle.dadeschools.org.
