Music is that magical gift that has great power for bringing people together. Spanish Lake Elementary's (SLE) Music Department’s end of the year concert, “Music Around the World,” brought many people together, all giving a standing ovation for the performances.

Musical selections featured were from all over the globe including Cuba, England, India, Jamaica, Greece, and U.S.A.  Performance groups from grades 3 through 5 included SLE’s chorus, bells, recorder, and violin.  Selections from Celia Cruz, the Beatles, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, A. R. Rahman, and Cheetah Girls were featured.

With the support from the parents who brought the students to rehearsals and provided the outfits, the music students, the talented violin teacher, Magdalena Luciani, Enrica Killian for her artistic backdrop, dedicated music teachers Melanie Negron and Diana Garcia, and to the SLE administration, the concert was deemed a success.
