St. Thomas golf/tennis tourney set for April 13

St. Thomas University’s signature event is right around the corner and golf and tennis lovers are in for a treat, as hundreds of players will be on hand to be called the best athletes in the world.

St. Thomas University’s Fore the Love of Education 2015 Golf and Tennis Tournament is scheduled or Monday, April 13 at the Trump National, 4400 N.W. 87 Avenue in Doral.

The event, which starts at 11 a.m., raises funds for student scholarships, internships, faculty, and student research and athletics.

About 220 golfers will play on the renovated Golden Palm Course and on the Red Tiger course, which has been redesigned by famed golf architect, Gil Hanse. About 32 tennis players will play at the new tennis complex located at the resort. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in various contests while enjoying snacks and drinks during the tournament. The festivities will conclude at the Living Room Lounge & Terrace overlooking the historic Blue Monster course for a cocktail reception, networking, awards ceremony, silent auction and a special raffle drawing.
