STU's Michael Walker earns All-American honors

St. Thomas University junior guard Michael Walker has been named a 2015-16 NAIA Division II Honorable Mention All-American.  

The 6-4 guard from Rancho Cucamonga, who led the Bobcats in scoring with a 16.1 points-per-game average, was also a First-Team All-Sun Conference selection and a Sun Conference All-Defensive team selection.

In addition to leading STU in scoring, Walker also led the team in assists (106), steals (63), made field goals (162) and minutes played (35.7 per game). He ranked fourth in NAIA Division II in steals per game with an average of 2.25 steals per game.

Walker scored 20 or more points in six games, including a 42-point performance where he hit a school-record eight three-pointers in the season opener against Florida National.
