From a Miami Lakes office park springs great beauty: Pregnant women in full bloom, dressed in flowing, bejeweled gowns rented by Maternity Magical Moments.
Business owner Leidy Alvarez wants women to feel their most beautiful in photographs that become keepsakes of their maternity journeys.
“Not every client wants to look the same,” Alvarez, 27, said in Spanish. “We have all the styles.”
Her motto: “Where your dreams come true.”
Alvarez’s clients often choose romantic scenes and include their families in the pictures.
Women book their photographer, makeup artist and if needed, a production company.
Some clients have posed in pastoral settings with horses or on swings wrapped in flowers.
Alvarez arrived from Cuba six years ago and was motivated by photographs of her own two pregnancies to start the business from a two-bedroom apartment in Hialeah, where she still lives with her family.
“I was inspired to bring beautiful and unique dresses at a good price,” Alvarez said.
A white gown with pearls and a sheer front that can be opened if the woman’s belly is featured is rented most often.
Prices are $40 to $250.
Alvarez can also provide feathered angel wings, flower crowns and jewelry.
Yisette Hernandez of Miami Lakes documented her second pregnancy with her husband Sergio Gonzalez and their daughter Annette. She said Alvarez was very attentive to her needs.
“The photos came out spectacular, and thanks to [Maternity Magical Moments] for the dress,” Hernandez said in Spanish.
