The Geezers Softball Team celebrates 16 years running bases

   The Miami Lakes Geezers softball players celebrated the 16th Anniversary of their program at Optimist Park on Sept. 15, while wearing last year’s T-shirts.

  “The Visitors scored eight runs in the final two innings to top the humbled Homester squad, 18 to 13,” Program Manager Dave Oliver said. 

    Oliver identified the Geezers in the photo, front row from left:  Fred “F Rod” Rodriguez; Juan Cruz; Bob Jones; Eduardo Fernandez; Dave Oliver; Carlos “CarGo” Gonzalez; “Beltin’ Bruce” Davidson; “Ancient Alberto” Sordo-Ramos (who is 89 years old); Juan “El Abogado” Perez; Andres Clavijo; Victor Fernandez (who is 91 years old) and “Homerin’ Hector” Blanco. “Swattin’ Sal” Guzman is kneeling in front.

     The Geezers play every Monday and Wednesday, starting with batting practice at 9 a.m. on Field 2 near the Club House. New players are welcome.
