“The Spot” at Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive, has scheduled a variety of cool events during February.
Wednesday, February 10 is Mardi Gras Night at The Spot with middle and high school students invited to celebrate Mardi Gras at an “open hang” night with music, games and free pizza, courtesy of Papa Johns. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants are urged to wear festive colors and be ready to parade in beads and masks.
Tuesday, February 16 is a Teacher Planning Day and PEAR Programs will host a “Space is the Place” event for kids ages 5 to 15. Day campers will learn about life beyond our planet including the galaxies, other planets and stars. The event runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in fee is $40 per child. Friday, February 26 is EGaming Tournament Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants are invited to test their skills at the Youth Center’s first eGaming night with games like Super Smash Bro’s, Mario Kart 8, Just Dance, Madden 16 and others for a fun night on the latest consoles.
