The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative of Miami Lakes is offering free mammograms and heart screenings in partnership with Macy’s and Jackson Health System.
Women who make an appointment may have breast exams at Macy’s at Westland Mall, 1777 S. 49th St. in Hialeah.
Patients will be seen from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.
They will then be able to enjoy a Macy’s mini-makeover, samples from a food station and receive a gift card.
Participants will also be able to enter a raffle for a Macy’s specialty fragrance basket or a Starbucks gift basket.
Jackson Health System will be on site too, to provide heart screenings.
The day of good preventative health measures is also a celebration of National Pink Day.
Participants may share pink-inspired photos and messages on social media using the hashtag #WBHIPinkDay at Facebook@TheWBHI and Instagram@WBHI.
The organization’s mission is to emphasize prevention and early detection. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among American women, WBHI said. About 10% of all new cases are discovered in women younger than 45.
