The mission of Zonta International and its local chapter in Miami Lakes is to advance the status of women and girls, support female education and fight human trafficking.

In May, members of The Zonta Club of Miami Lakes donated clothing and gift cards to the State Attorney’s Closet, which supplies victims of sexual or human trafficking with items they may need. The project is by Katherine Fernandez Rundle, state attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.

“We hope to create lasting change through service and advocacy,” Zonta Club of Miami Lakes President Sally Whitton said.

The Club is an organization of business and professional executives who support charitable causes in South Florida and internationally through its parent organization.
