The Town of Miami Lakes and its Cultural Affairs Committee are accepting nominations for amazing women who contribute to the community’s quality of life.
The nominees may be honored at an upcoming luncheon for Women of Distinction.
Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at bit.ly/3X7tpZP.
The award categories are:
The Arts A woman who has contributed to the cultural life of the community through theater; dance; music; art or literature.
Business A professional who owns a firm or is a chief executive officer or high-level manager at a company.
Community and Civic Affairs A leader, supervisor, administrator, manager or member who has contributed to Miami Lakes.
Education An educator, administrator or director of a public or private institution of learning who is outstanding in her field.
Government A woman who has made an outstanding contribution to the community through her work in or with local government.
Health Services An individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the health services field.
Humanitarian An outstanding woman who has contributed to the community; she may or may not be affiliated with a commercial, professional or non-profit agency or group.
Volunteer Someone who has made an outstanding contribution in serving the needs of others.
