Miami Lakers love their parks. There are 100 of them, big and small, on land donated for the public by The Graham Companies.
During the first week of May, town officials unveiled improvements to four play spaces for kids that included stairs to climb and slides to ride down.
Old equipment was replaced with new structures and safety surfaces at Park 35, Big Cypress Drive at Miami Lakeway South in the Lake Mary neighborhood, and in Park 58 at the eastern end of Sawmill Lane, before Briar Patch Place in Windmill Gate.
The town also replaced playground structures at Park 16, at 14620 Palmetto Palm Avenue in Lake Martha and in Park 3 on Gleneagle Drive in Loch Lomond.
The new equipment and related park improvements at the four parks cost $139,763, said J.P. Yanes, the town’s Special Projects Manager for Parks.
