Town Topics: Have you kept your New Year's resolutions?

     “My New Year’s resolution is study in school and dedicate more time and work harder at it,” Edith Gonzalez said. “I’ve been dedicating a lot of hours to that.”

     “So far I have,” Andrea Gil said. “My New Year’s resolution is to stay healthy and spend time with my family.” 

Marilyn Ruano  Miami Lakes Town of Miami Lakes Councilwoman 

     “I think my New Year’s resolution every year is to simplify my life and am I keeping it? Absolutely not,” Miami Lakes Councilwoman Marilyn Ruano said. “Every year seems more complicated than the one before. God seems to throw new challenges at us. 

     “That’s always my New Year’s resolution, I always promise myself come January I am going to simplify my life and it never happens. So, I’ll keep trying. Maybe next year,” she said.

Clary Garcia-Ramos Miami Lakes Yoga instructor Miami Lakes Athletic Club

     “I want to lose a little bit more weight,” Clary Garcia-Ramos said. “Because of Christmas you gain a good five pounds. I know I will lose it right away as soon as I start working out.”

Michael McCoy Country Club of Miami Maintenance Engineer Miami Lakes Athletic Club 

    “Yes, [my resolution is] to lose some weight, basically right now I’m losing 12 pounds,” Michael McCoy said. “This is my first year [making a resolution]. Working here at the gym, it’s made it easier."
