Town Topics: How will you celebrate Independence Day?

     “We will be celebrating Independence Day in front of a 20-foot-tall bonfire with 600 Scouts from around the country, in Camp Raven Knob, North Carolina, singing patriotic songs and celebrating what’s best about America,” Sean Schwinghammer said.

     “[On] July 4th, Independence Day, I will be at Miami Lakes Veterans Park watching fireworks,” Katherine Alvarez wrote in an email.

     “The American Legion Post 144 is having a picnic at Pavilion B [in Veterans Park],” Larry Borman said. “Secondly, I plan to be there at [6:30 p.m.] for the Pledge of Allegiance and then hopefully see a great fireworks show, weather permitting.”

     “I will be at my pool during the day and I’ll probably go to Veterans Park in the evening,” Yenisey Cabrera said. “I can see the fireworks from home too. [It’s] one of the perks of living on Main Street.”

     “I’ll be working the town’s [Fourth of July] event,” Jonathan Gil wrote in an email.
