     “I miss her calls, her phone calls every morning,” Claribel Soto said. “And she always used to tell me a woman doesn’t leave the house without lipstick or earrings.”

     “Her teaching me how to cook, cooking in the kitchen together,” Madelin Santana said. “Her flan was the best.”

     “My mom is a very special woman to me,” Daniela Feliu said. “She is like my best friend I would say, my second half. “My most favorite memory with her is all the travels we have done over the years, especially going to Aspen [Colo.] and going on the slopes with her.”

    “When I was much younger, I think it was 1998, when the Pokémon [video] game came out,” Josh Dieguez said. “I told my mom I had saved up enough money to go ahead and buy it. She took me to the Hialeah Toys R Us … The cash register shows $50. I take out two quarters, thinking it’s $50. I had no concept of money. … The lady looked at me and at my mom, [who] covered it with the actual cash.”
