Miami Lakes residents are invited to attend the unveiling of the new Veterans Memorial in front of Government Center, 6601 Main Street, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4.
The ceremony, organized by the town’s Veteran’s Committee, will include Presentation of the Colors, reading of a Town Council proclamation, and the unveiling of the commemorative bricks placed on the pathway leading to the Memorial.
Artist Stephanie Laffe Werner created the Memorial which honors all five of the United States military branches – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The Professional Advisory Committee chose Laffe’s artwork to adorn Town Hall and pay tribute to the men and women who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
