Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is seeking volunteers to lead guided interactive tours for its visitors. An information reception for those interested in becoming a Volunteer Guide will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, in the Courtyard of the Main House, 3251 South Miami Avenue.
New Volunteer Guides training begins on March 10 for seven weeks. Training will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Vizcaya. Attendance at all seven sessions is required.
Since 1954, the 45-minute public guided tours are discussion-based and focus on the merging of European, American and Miami traditions in the Main House and the gardens. The guided tours promote active and social learning, and empower visits to make meaningful personal connections.
Volunteer Guides will be selected based on an application and interview process during the information reception. Interested persons need to RSVP by February 16 to Vizcaya’s Guiding Programs manager Mark Osterman at mark.osterman@vizcaya.org.
