Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid, presents the Mayor’s Cup trophy to Barbara Goleman Senior High School’s football team on Dec. 3 at the Gators’ home field. Goleman defeated archrivals Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School, 42-14.

Goleman leads the series 2-1 and are 6-0 for their season.

“The 3rd Annual Mayor’s Cup was amazing,” Cid said on Twitter. “Congratulations to the back-to-back champions…Kudos to the Trojans for a great game.”

On Dec. 12, the Gators won 26 - 23 in their first-round playoff matchup in the Greater Miami Athletic Conference against G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School.

Last year, the Gators lost the inaugural GMAC championship game to Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School, which broke their season winning streak.
