The Town of Miami Lakes is calling on local artists or an art team to help design the town’s MiGlo outdoor walking and biking trail.
The public arts project will transform an existing path on the south side of Northwest 170th Street.
At night, it will glow in the dark, adding to the beauty of the trail and making it safer for users.
The $22,500 project will be the first of its kind in Miami-Dade County, the town said. It is funded by a grant from The Miami Foundation and Target.
The deadline for artists to submit their designs for the quarter mile trail is Tuesday, Jan. 21.
The Miami Lakes MiGlo Artist Selection Committee will choose the design in March.
