Miami-Dade County Public School board recently approved a recommendation by Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho to rename the District’s six adult education centers as “technical colleges.”
Carvalho said this will help identify the schools as centers of higher learning due to their offerings of vocational careers and training.
Locally, Miami Lakes Educational Center will now be known as Miami Lakes Educational Center and Technical College.
