Spanish Lake Elementary goes full STEAM in SECME competition

Spanish Lake Elementary (SLE) attended the 2019 SECME and STEAM competitions held at Miami Dade College North Campus on January 26. SLE participated in the Science Brain Bowl, Math Bowl, water bottle rocket, mousetrap car, the SECME vision board and essay, the banner competition and the Science Fair competitions.
In each SECME competition, the students received participation and honorable mentions. In the Science Fair competition, two bronze medals, a silver medal and a gold medal were awarded. Bronze medals were awarded to fourth graders Amanda Rivera and Dominick Rivera. Silver medal was awarded to fifth grader Alyssa Dueso.
A gold medal was awarded to fifth grader Daniel Caraballo.
