Jan Mannion, a longtime Miami Lakes resident, teacher and football coach at Hialeah Miami Lakes (HML) passed away on December 18 following an illness. He was 74 years old. Mannion is survived by his wife Diane, son Christopher and grandson Troy.Mannion retired from Miami Dade County Public Schools after a 33-year teaching and coaching career. Miami Lakes Neighborhood Improvement Committee will host the first Community Bike Ride of the New Year on Saturday, January 19.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. for the 5.5-mile family-friendly loop with the ride starting at 9 a.m. from Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive East.
