Miami Lakes residents Kimberly Pascual and Daniel Telles celebrated their nuptials on Sunday, May 15, with a ceremony at New Testament Baptist Church followed by a reception at the Don Shula Hotel on Main Street. Angel Armesto awarded for piano recital

Miami Lakes Middle School student Angel Eladio Armesto was awarded by his teacher, Miami Lakes native Maria Cama, for his performance at his piano recital at Steinway Studio in coral gables. The recital took place on June 4.
Monsignor Edward Pace High freshmen Kelsy Rosier recently won a Laureate Silver Medal and ranked in the top 10 in Florida and the United States at the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) National French Contest. Rosier won the medal at the annual competition sponsored by AATF for students of French from grades 1-12 in all 50 states and abroad.
The Graham Companies announced a major renovation of the Cypress Village Shopping Center is underway. Miami Lakes town government has a fresh, new look following the overwhelming approval of 10 town charter amendments that were proposed to voters in a May 17 mail-in ballot election.One of the key amendments approved by 71 percent of those voting reinstates a provision for a run-off election if no one candidate wins over 50 percent of the vote in a general election.The run-off election was among the changes proposed by the Miami Lakes Charter...
