Pace High School seniors participate in traditional class trip abroad to Canada

  Gabriella Mestre is a junior at Barbara Goleman Senior High School (BGSHS) who is raising money for homeless awareness in her community. To combat these issues, she started an initiative in her school called Teens Against Homelessness (TAH).  Mestre emphasizes the problem of homelessness across communities in South Florida, and believes that the problem could easily be eradicated if people come together to help one another. ...
  Mater Academy’s cheerleading team finished in third place at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state competition at the University of Florida in Gainesville. It was the Lionettes best finish since 2009. Mater Academy won the district championship and performed well in the regionals to advance to the state championships. The group is led by coach Ana Millan.

St. Andrews Lutheran Church will have a yard sale on Saturday, March 3 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will take place at 575 W. 68 Street across from Twin Lakes Elementary School in Hialeah.  Funds raised will provide continuing support for the church’s food bank and other ministry activities.
