Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award presented for fiscal 2011-12

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Town of Miami Lakes by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States for its comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2011-2012.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government, its staff and management.

“Transparency has truly been ingrained in the Miami Lakes’ town government culture,” said Vice Mayor Manny Cid. “This is just another example of Miami Lakes leading the way in financial transparency.”

The comprehensive annual financial report has been judged to meet the highest standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the comprehensive annual financial report.
