American Legion Post 144 celebrates organization’s 104th anniversary

     American Legion Post 144 in Miami Lakes hosted a luncheon to mark the 104th anniversary of the organization that supports veterans, their families and active-duty military personnel. Guests at the Sept. 16th celebration filled the Roberto Alonso Community Center to enjoy raffles and music. 

     AC Graphics Digital executive Tico Casamayor, who runs public relations for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce, was master of ceremonies and provided the photos.

     Local elected officials who attended were Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sen. Rene Garcia who represents Miami Lakes, and Miami Lakes council members Marilyn Ruano, Josh Dieguez and Tony Fernandez (Dieguez and Fernandez are both candidates for town mayor). 

     Sea Scouts from Ship 144 helped with the heavy lifting.
