The Women's Breast Health Initiative, Florida Affiliate (WBHI) is hosting the third annual “B fore Pink” Golf Tournament on Friday, September 19 to raise funds to fight breast cancer. The tournament will be held at Shula's Golf Club, 7601 Miami Lakes Drive.

Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month is not until October, the Miami-based organization is based on reaching women before they “turn pink” the color for breast cancer, through prevention, education and early detection.

Dinner, cocktails and an award ceremony will follow the tournament. A live and silent auction will feature prizes including dining, entertainment, fashion, art, fitness, a three night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Mexico or the Dominican Republic, and a trip to Seaworld.

The funds raised through the event contribute toward ensuring at-risk women in South Florida receive services that the WBHI provides. WBHI provides berate health education and mammograms through targeted door-to-door outreach, screening, and/or treatment.

“The ‘B fore Pink’ Golf Tournament has become an important annual event for WBHI because it not only provides critical resources to the organization, it helps us get a jump start on raising awareness before October,” said Andrea Ivory, executive director. “Thanks to the generosity of the many people who make it successful, we are able to continue our efforts to make a difference through awareness, education and screening.”

Prestige Golf by Juan Gomez is the presenting sponsor. Other co-sponsors include The Graham Companies, Macy's, Mercedes-Benz of Miami, Dynasty Apparel, Premier Beverage, the Farrah Family, Speedo and many more.
