Parents can take advantage of the new 10-day back-to-school sales tax holiday when they purchase school supplies and clothes starting in August.
From August 7 through August 16, items in stores will be tax-free including clothing, footwear, wallets and bags that cost $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories.
The no sales tax law doesn’t apply to rentals or leases of any school-related items, and the sales of clothing, school supplies, or computers and computer-related accessories in a theme park, entertainment complexes, public lodging establishments or airports.
