Scoutmaster Robert Beguiristain of Boy Scout Troop 660 welcomes new boy scouts who are 11 years old or at least 10 years old and have finished the fifth grade. The troop meets every Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 Ludlam Road, in Miami Lakes.
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness.
Troop 660 participates in exciting outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and canoeing. The troop emphasizes fitness, leadership skills, helping others and having fun. Scouts earn merit badges after acquiring skills as they move through the ranks with the goal of becoming an Eagle Scout. Scouts participate in community service activities. Attendees do not need to be Miami Lakes residents.
