Nominate an active duty service member, reservist, veteran or retiree from any branch of the military whose photo and career information will be flown on a banner hung along Miami Lakes Drive between Northwest 67th Avenue and the Palmetto Expressway. March 18 - April 1 Nominations for the Education Advisory Board’s Awards of Excellence. The Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board is seeking nominations for exceptional fifth, eighth or twelfth grade students who live in town and perform community service. Categories are Athletics; Business; Community Hero; English and Literature; Fine Arts; Journalism; Local Advocacy and STEM. Nominations are also being sought for Outstanding Educator of the Year. Class of 2022 seniors can have a banner with their photos placed along Miami Lakes Drive between NW 57 Ave. to NW 67 Ave., continuing after the Palmetto Expressway to NW 87 Ave. The banner project is open to Miami Lakes residents and will be on display for three months.
