March 1 – 31 Town of Miami Lakes/Loving Shoes Shoe Drive. Donate new/gently worn footwear at Miami Lakes Town Hall lobby, 6601 Main St., Mon – Fri., 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

April 1 - 15 The Miami Lakes Veterans Committee is seeking candidates for Military Tribute banners. Nominate an active duty service member, reservist, veteran or retiree from any branch of the military whose photo and career information will be flown on a banner hung along Miami Lakes Drive between Northwest 67th Avenue and the Palmetto Expressway. March 18 - April 1 Nominations for the Education Advisory Board’s Awards of Excellence. The Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board is seeking nominations for exceptional fifth, eighth or twelfth grade students who live in town and perform community service. Categories are Athletics; Business; Community Hero; English and Literature; Fine Arts; Journalism; Local Advocacy and STEM. Nominations are also being sought for Outstanding Educator of the Year. March 31 Coffee with a Cop Vanilla Espresso Bakery Cafe, 16395 NW 67 Ave., Miami Lakes. 8:30 a.m.  

April 1 - 29. Graduate Banners. Class of 2022 seniors can have a banner with their photos placed along Miami Lakes Drive between NW 57 Ave. to NW 67 Ave., continuing after the Palmetto Expressway to NW 87 Ave. The banner project is open to Miami Lakes residents and will be on display for three months. April 2 Fishing with America’s Finest. Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82nd Ave., Miami Lakes. The Miami Lakes Veterans Committee invites veterans and their families to a fun-filled morning of free fishing in Graham Dairy Lake and activities in the park. 9 a.m. 

April 4 VIP E-Sports League at The Spot. Town of Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive, Miami Lakes. Join the inaugural e-sports league with games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Madden and NBA 2K and earn community service hours. 5:30 p.m. Free. Register at toml.eventbrite.com.
