Barbara Goleman graduate, Jordan Thompson, celebrated his birthday in the last weeks of his senior year to a great surprise from the school. Appropriately named “The Wall of Presidents,” a wall in the school's main office will now feature the student government and student class presidents for their consistent efforts and achievements.

Thompson will be attending Florida International University this fall to pursue a degree in biology. Throughout his high school career, Thompson has led an anti-bullying seminar, held the title of vice president for the National Honor Society and was the Miami-Dade Youth Summit Liaison while juggling a rigorous course-load of advanced placement and dual enrollment classes. He also took part in the school's bowling and badminton teams.

Thompson's mother, Felicia Lewis, though immensely proud of her son, says his concluding year at Goleman is bittersweet.

“I want him to stay on the path he is on now. But I’m torn. He is an only child, and growing up so fast,” said Lewis with a smile.

The Wall of Presidents also honored former student government president, Bryan Benaiges and will honor presidents from past years.
