Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee will host a healthy cooking demonstration on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The event is free and open to the public. The presentation will be provided by Whole Foods Pembroke Pines and a complimentary healthy lunch will be provided.
Samantha Hydes, Healthy Eating and Green Mission specialist at Whole Foods Market will go over the USDA’s daily recommendations for the Standard American Diet. Hydes will clarify marketing in the food industry that can be confusing to consumers, and cover Whole Foods Market’s four pillars of health eating: Whole foods, healthy fats, nutrient dense, plant-strong.
