Marjorie Prime in final weekend on Main Street

Community Thursday, May 4, 2017

There is only one more weekend left to see the South Florida premiere of Marjorie Prime, the Pulitzer Prize nominated play currently running at Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, in Miami Lakes.

Funny, poignant, and thought-provoking, this play centers on Marjorie, an 85-year-old woman who is losing her memory and dealing with the physical limitations that accompany aging. She has a hologram of her deceased husband to help her recover her memories so she can keep some sense of self.

As her daughter and son-in-law argue as to whether they should let her be reminded of the long-lost memories of her deceased son, all these issues and resentments lead to a dramatic conclusion.

Marjorie Prime stars Carol Sussman as Marjorie, Fara Sax as Tess, Harry Marsh as Jon, and Chris D’Angelo as Walter. The show is directed by John Olivera, stage manager is Cindy Castillo, and technical director is Dennis Lyzniak. Marjorie Prime runs through its final weekend May 5-7, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for students, seniors, and military personnel, and may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com or at the door thirty minutes prior to showtime.
