Thirty-eight teams faced off at the third annual OwlBots VEX IQ Robotics Tournament at Miami Lakes K-8 Center.
The competition on Jan. 18 drew teams from across the district and Hollywood. Elementary and middle schools competed in a variety of robotics skills tests.
Students showed off their programming and driving talents, and presented their engineering notebooks that held their designs. Three of the K-8 Center’s teams participated in the tournament: MLK-8 Owls and Owl Gals represented the middle school and Tek Feathers represented the elementary school.
While the three teams did not win any of the competitions, the school said in a media release that the tournament was a “resounding success, providing a platform for students to demonstrate their skills and passion for technology.”
