Florida International University president Dr. Mark B. Rosenberg will be the guest speaker for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s monthly membership luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, inside the Grand Ballroom at Don Shula’s Hotel on Main Street.
The event starts at 11:30 a.m. with networking, and lunch will be served at 12 noon.
Rosenberg is the first FIU faculty member to ascend to the university’s presidency.
He has more than 35 years of experience in higher education leadership. He was one of the principal architects of FIU’s growth and expansion during the past decade, served as Chancellor of the State University System of Florida, and is the author, editor and editor of seven books and numerous scholarly articles on Latin America.
Rosenberg and his wife of 40 years, Rosalie, are members of the Temple Menorah in Miami Beach.
His son, Benjamin Rosenberg, is in law school, and his daughter, Ginelle, is receiving her Master’s Degree in Social Studies Education.
Deadline to reserve for the luncheon is at 2 p.m., Friday, June 5.
Lunch admission is $30 for members and their guests who reserve; $35 for members and their guests who don’t reserve; and $40 for non members.
