Miami Lakes Congregational Church is hosting a concert with the union of two enormously talented childhood prodigies (husband and wife) Tao Lin and Dr. Catherine Lan at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.
The duo has played on numerous stages in the United States and abroad with some of the greatest chamber soloists of all time. Their formidable talents will be showcased during the concert with piano duets and solo pieces.
Lin was born into a musical family in Shanghai. He began piano lessons at age four and in less than five years, had made his first public appearance and gained entrance to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He has since performed in concerts around the world, has been a regular guest artist at numerous music festivals, and is a prolific recording artist.
Lan made her international debut in Japan at the age of 8 winning a Yamaha original composition competition. Since then, she has appeared frequently as a featured soloist with a number of leading orchestras, has made numerous appearances with celebrated chamber ensembles, and has performed solo recitals on TV and radio.
Admission to the concert is free with an optional suggested donation of $20 at the door. A reception with the artists will follow the concert.
